Instructions for Use
Use an indicator on every item, bag, skin bag, or tray used for radiation exposure. Dispose of packages/items as needed. After exposure to radiation, the gamma sterilize label indicator color will change from yellow to red. Transition color may vary depending on load configuration, length and dispensing conditions. A color change from yellow to dark orange/red indicates exposure to radiation. The longer the dose, the darker the color of the signal will become. If the color of the signal is not reached, this means that the ideal conditions have not been met. If the download was not successfully processed, reprocess the download with a new indicator.
The chemical reactions leading to the color transition are radiation-specific and in most cases irreversible. Storing a medium near an alkaline pH (such as reagent vapors or cleaning agents) after exposure may result in an inadvertent color change from red to yellow/orange.
